I spent over 15 years running a collision repair shop, which means I’ve personally felt the frustration of receiving an insurer-written estimate and spending valuable time re-keying every line into CCC ONE or Mitchell just to get a car into production. That pain point never went away and after watching the industry live with it for years, I decided to do something about it. I co-founded Estimate Mirror with the simple belief that shops shouldn’t be losing hours every week to a problem that technology can solve. I’m not a software engineer — I’m a shop guy who got tired of the workaround. That perspective drives everything about how Estimate Mirror is built: practical, reliable, and designed by someone who’s actually stood behind the counter.

I’ve spent 25 years building software that has to work — from growing a startup out of a three-person apartment to managing banking integrations used by over 9 million people, where 99.5% uptime isn’t a goal, it’s the floor. As a Software Engineering Manager at a leading financial technology company, I lead a team of engineers building custom API and platform integrations for banks and credit unions across the country. I also hold the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Alabama Army National Guard, with three combat deployments and over 30 years leading people under pressure. When Kevin described the estimate re-keying problem, I didn’t just see a frustration. I saw a solvable engineering problem with a clear ROI.
